Identify the runtime model
A built static site, a serverless handler and a continuously running Node.js application have different hosting needs. Never assume that a basic shared plan supports arbitrary persistent processes.
Requirement matrix
- Required Node runtime version
- Persistent worker or scheduler support
- Process supervision and restart behavior
- Runtime memory limits and CPU quotas
- Database and outgoing network access
- Reverse proxy and TLS setup
- Backup, monitoring and rollback
Compare hosting categories
Static front ends often work on managed static platforms. Persistent Node APIs may need a supported app-hosting feature or VPS. Containers usually require a platform that permits container execution.
Validate before buying
Ask the provider to confirm the exact selected plan, deployment features and server location. Check whether required components are built in, add-ons or unavailable. Use documented capability listings; do not infer from other plans.
Examples are starting points, not production security audits. Confirm dependencies, versions and pricing using linked vendor documentation.
